Today I had a job interview. It went great. I basically have a job as long as I can come up with $150 for a background check, enrollemnt and a piss test I’ve got a job after the training.

I was taking 70 on the way back from this interview and the pulley that connects to my water pump decided it wanted to have a little adventure and fell the fuck off of my car.

At first I just thought the car made a weird noise and my power steering went out.

“No biggie,” I thought, “surely I can make it back to Greencastle without power steering.”

And that is what I continued to think until people started honking at me and pointing at my left tire. I then found an exit and stopped at the first convenient place only to find that there was a belt trailing behind my front right side tire. And after checking under the hood and having Kyle take me to an Auto Zone I was able to confirm what I just described at the top of the post.

Lets hope I can get Chuck all patched up so I can get this job.

Coming up for air

Well I’ve been off the radar for a bit, I thought that I should do an update of sorts.

The Ex-Girlfriend Lady left for Texas last week. I’m actually living on my own now. Well, not technically. I still share the house with my mom, uncle, my cat, my uncle’s cat, uncle’s dog, and my mom’s two cats. But the point I’m trying to make is that I had no idea how much I’d gotten used to sharing a bed with someone. It’s a lot colder now that I don’t have anyone to steal warmth from.

I’ve secured employment at the Sonic Drive-in Restaurant that was just recently built in my town. I start at the first of the year.

I’ve received an advance copy of Scot Sigler’s “Contagious” for the purposes of doing a book review. I’ll post that on this blog when the time comes. And I’ll be in Winnekta, Illinois when he stops there for his book tour on January 19. You can find out more about his the times, dates, and cities of his book tour at his site.

I’ve been at Kyle’s house for the last couple of days, playing video games, drinking. All that fun stuff. Just watched “The Dark Knight” and it’s a great movie even on DVD. I suggest that you pick it up.

As far as news on “Checking In” is concerned, I was working on it the whole week before The Ex-Girlfriend Lady left, and I had somewhere between twenty and twenty-two thousand words when she left. I won’t be able to work on it further until I get another computer. But I’d have to say that I’m one-fourth of the way through the story so far. I hope to have it done by March. And I don’t know when I’ll be podcasting it. I don’t know if I want to use a windows computer and Audacity because I can afford that. Or if I want to talk myself into shelling out two grand on a Mac. I’ll probably do the former over the latter just because it’s cost effective. I really don’t know yet. But I’ll be sure to keep you updated.
